At any rate, here's some things that many of you may not know about me: I'm 25, played organ for 8 years now this summer, and have worked in churches for that long. I'm presently employed at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, where I play organ, direct a choir of wonderful people, am involved in fund-raising for the restoration of a Skinner organ, and manage a concert series. I was raised in Flint, went to Catholic school for 12 years, and after a short hiatus from college I am finishing my B.Music degree. My hobbies (which I never seem to have time for) include biking, brewing and tasting fine beer, studying Gregorian chant, and of course listening to great music. I'm also known for wearing bow ties, which is quite odd as I wear ties at most twice a week, and prefer bow ties about 1/3 of the time. It's still classier than a four-in-hand. I enjoy all sorts of music, mainly classical and church music, but also hair metal and techno. Some of my favorite organ literature is French Romantic - Charles-Marie Widor is my favorite composer - German Romantic, and early German baroque.
Here is a picture of myself at my home piano after my very first Easter Mass in 2003 (senior year of high school). That was several firsts for me: my first job as a music director, my first Easter as organist, first time directing a choir, first time playing a prelude. Seems appropriate on the eve of my first trip to Europe!
